Departing from Bankstown Airport, you will be met and escorted to your plane. After a briefing, it is time to hit the skies and enjoy your flight (approx. 1hr 40mins). Nestled between the remote country towns of Nyngan and Tottenham in Central West NSW, you will be met and transferred to the farm which will offer you a unique glimpse into a sunburnt country of yesteryear. The farm has a long association with Merino Wool and Lamb production. The original wool shed, built from raw cut timbers logged on the property, will tempt you to wander back in time, whilst meandering your way through the historic shearing stands. A short wander as you breathe in the fresh country air which will bring you to the Shearer’s Quarters, a former Officer’s Mess brought to the property after World War II.
In the Shearer’s Quarters guest lounge, enjoy a delicious locally roasted brew and some home baked goodies, we will run through a farm briefing before heading for the paddocks!
Time to get your bearings across the 28,000-acre station! Jump aboard as we fire up the old ‘safari style’ troopy and take to the dirt tracks to show you this beautiful corner of the world. Keep your eyes peeled for red and grey kangaroos, emus, echidnas, goannas, foxes, rabbits and of course a few Merinos! Explore various cropping and livestock paddocks with discussions around food and fibre production.
All this adventuring will build up an appetite! Venture through the timber church doors which will reveal your dining space for your lunch, featuring vintage bentwood chairs, rustic timber tables and exposed beams adorned with old brass chandeliers. As the gentle hum of chatter and music builds you will feast on hand made dishes that showcase the best produce from the farm, as well as friends and the Central West NSW region. Your hosts, Angie and Michael Armstrong, share a passion inspiring guests through a dining experience like no other. Raised on a small family farm in the rolling green hills of the Yarra Valley in Melbourne, Angie has grown up surrounded by inspirational food. As a fourth-generation custodian of the property, Michael’s dedication to the land and fervent love of farming is clear. Together, their commitment to quality produce and responsible farming delivers guests a dining experience with a true stamp of individuality.
